DigiSensing is a digital phenotyping platform that collects passive and active data as part of research ethics board approved studies by the National Research Council Canada (NRC). The data collected from mobile phones and wearable devices of users logged into the application can be used to characterize their wellbeing as they go about activities of daily life. When participants consent to take part in the research studies they are provided with a server URL, a username, and a password to log into this application. From logged-in users, this application is capable of collecting, among other information, the GPS location, information about incoming and outgoing phone calls, accelerometer information, and wellness data entered into Apple Health. Surveys and cognitive games are also accessible within the application and the user will be notified on a regular schedule to complete these as part of the research study.
